Our Mission:

Our mission is to provide our patients and their families with the best possible tomorrow.

At NeuroCog Solutions, we specialize in the evaluation and treatment of various neurological disorders. Through our expertise in testing and our attention to detail, we will focus on each patient’s individual needs by tailoring treatments for their unique challenges.

Understanding the root cause of behaviors is the first step to creating a tailored treatment for you or your loved one. Below are the three steps to help us start you on the best path forward.

Neuropsychological Testing

Our neuropsychological testing thoroughly examines strengths and weaknesses in the brain and will provide us insights into the root causes of behaviors.

Neuropsychological Feedback and Recommendations

Once testing is complete, our team will put together a detailed report based on the results which will serve as the foundation of our tailored treatment strategy.

Treatments

Now that we understand the root cause of symptoms, we can create the tailored treatment plan to improve you or your loved one’s every day life. This includes recommendations for the family as well.

Certain therapies or treatments can improve functioning and quality of life. Depending on your needs, we may recommend:

  • Caregiver counseling, coping with chronic illness, understanding dementia diagnosis. Our counselors and social workers help patients and their families manage the dementia diagnosis and future planning.

    Individual and/or Caregiver Counseling

We may suggest counseling to manage the adjustment to a diagnosis. Our social workers also have expertise in navigating the steps after diagnosis and planning for the future.

  • Speech therapy addresses word finding problems, articulation difficulties, and other language challenges. Speech therapy can also help with developing strategies.

    Speech-Language Evaluation and Therapy

Speech-language pathology services can address changes in speech, language and thinking. We may suggest an evaluation to inform treatment goals.

  • Cognitive training helps memory loss. Early in dementia, memory and attention strategies are important. We help dementia patients with brain training and strategy development.

    Cognitive Rehabilitation/Training

Cognitive training aims to strengthen skills while also developing strategies to manage the changes in abilities. Common targets include memory loss, attention problems, trouble with planning and organizing, problem solving and more.

We specialize in brain injuries and neurological disease.

Our expertise is in neuropsychological evaluation of all types of brain ailments including traumatic injuries, stroke, dementia, and more. As no person or condition is exactly the same, each of our patients will get a personalized treatment plan.

Dr-Alison-Tverdov-Expert-Neuropsychologist-PsyD

Dr. Alison Tverdov is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist.

When I first opened the practice in 2018, I was a solo practitioner. Since then, I have grown a team of clinicians whose aim is to improve the lives of those with neurological conditions and the lives of their families. In addition to neuropsychology and counseling, we also offer speech-language pathology and functional skills training services. For quite some time, I have wanted a practice name that better captures our services. I felt the name NJ Psychological Services did not match our mission. In 2023, I rebranded the practice to NeuroCog Solutions. This brand change better reflects our services which assess neurocognitive skills and provide practical solutions to improve everyday life. Thank you for trusting us with your care. -Dr. Alison Tverdov
