Skills Training FAQ
-
Do I have to purchase supplies?
We may recommend certain supplies based on your needs. This may vary from calendars/planners, whiteboards, pill boxes, cooking utensils/appliances, etc. We try to accommodate your needs, especially if you are not doing your own shopping or have trouble using online shopping methods.
-
Does insurance cover skills training?
Yes and no.
Yes, some insurance plans may cover skills training as part of cognitive rehabilitation delivered by a licensed speech-language pathologist. Your insurance company may require a medical script, specific diagnosis, prior authorization, and dictate how many sessions you are allowed. Home visits are usually not covered. Every insurance plan is different. If you plan on using insurance, please go through our speech therapy providers.
Since insurance companies may limit access to care, we created an additional line of services designed to meet your needs. Although these services are not covered by insurance, we are able to work with a wider range of clients.
